Genuinely thought this first exercise was a bit of a joke at first. Getting random materials and objects, sticking them together, and trying to make something that would draw for you instead of using your hand.
But it actually turned out to be one of the most interesting exercises i've ever done. Some of the mark makings i was creating, i would never have been able to do with my hand. It made me really think about what "drawing" actually is. Its not just pencil or pen in your hand, piece of paper on the table, and drawing what you see. It's so much wider than that. Drawing is using different methods to make marks, in anyway you like, on whatever you like, and it doesn't even have to be of something in particular. You can create some really strange/ different or interesting/ beautiful marks with drawing. Its not just limited to pencil, paper and your hand.
